How Do I Know Which Account Type My Account Number Is?
- All our account numbers are 7 characters long and start with ’38’
- The last letter of your account number determines the account type
- For example, if your account number is 38XXXXS, then this is your RRSP account number
- A – CASH (Non-Registered Investment Account)
- S – RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Account)
- R – Spousal RRSP (Spousal Registered Retirement Savings Account)
- W – TFSA (Tax-Free Savings Account)
- Q – FHSA (First-Home Savings Account)
- Z – RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan)
- N – LRSP/LIRA (Locked-in Retirement Savings Plan/Locked-in Retirement Account)
- T – RRIF (Registered Retirement Income Fund)
- Y – Spousal RRIF (Spousal Registered Retirement Income Fund)
- P – LIF (Life Income Fund)
What is My Client ID?
- It is the first 6 characters of your account number
- For example, if your account number is 38XXXXA, then your Client ID is 38XXXX

- It is not unusual to have multiple Client IDs
- Use any one of your Client IDs to register for online access
